So, I'm sitting here, attempting to start this h50/Sherlock crossover fic, right?

While watching this horribly bad syfy movie, I might add. The one with the ghost town, and the ghost outlaws, and the kids? Yeah. It's awesomely bad.

Anyway. So. Yes. Writing.

I'm going 'okay. how to cross these two shows' and then y'know, thinking about Sherlock so far, which inevitably leads to Reichenbach, which inevitably leads to me going 'OHMYGOD JOHN WATSON YOU POOR CREATURE' and also 'SHERLOCK. ALL YER FEELINGS. THEY ARE SHOWING' as well as other, more embarrassing noises which I shall not name. And of course, thinking about that means I'm going 'I WANT A REUNION FIC. I WANT IT.'

So, inevitably, my brain is going 'YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS A REUNION FIC. WHERE JOHN IS IN HAWAII, STILL THINKING SHERLOCK IS DEAD, EXCEPT HE ISN'T, AND WO FAT IS SOMEHOW CONNECTED TO MORIARTY SO SHERLOCK IS IN HAWAII TOO, AND OF COURSE FIVE-0 IS TRYING TO TAKE WO FAT DOWN SO THAT LEADS TO THE INEVITABLE MEETING.' With other ideas. It's actually fairly complex plot in my head. and then.

I'm like. 'BUT WHY THE FUCK WOULD JOHN BE IN HAWAII, BRAIN?'

I haven't found an answer to that, yet. I DO NOT WANT TO BE DEFEATED BY THIS.

HELP?

And yes, I can see that. Maybe something of a holiday where he just needs to get away. I mean, all of London is riddled with memories, pretty much, so it'd hurt with all the memories all over the place.

yes, yes, I had the very same flash as ciaimpala up there, maybe he needs to go somewhere that is the total opposite of London/England, to go somewhere he's never been before just to prove he's getting over it, and he forces himself to send postcards with luau girls to Lestrade and stuff.

Could the holiday be a gift from a hideously guilty feeling Mycroft trying to ease his conscience by taking care of the closest thing he has left to Sherlock. John initially throws it back at him - saying he can't buy redemption or forgiveness - but then john's all 'fuck it, I'll humour the rich prick. It'll b a change to go somewhere hot where no ones trying to kill me'. (but he nearly changes his mind on the plane when he can't get the image of Sherlock stomping round Honolulu in that trench coat out of his head - the grief in his laughter almost chokes him )

Just an early morning idea - hope it helps! (because, omg, I need this fic to exist :) )
