I was bored, and did a monster-meme. This is kind of-sort of the result, but not really. The original idea was a lot more monster-ish, and mis-matched with different creature parts than this guy.
Still, I had fun with him.
I imagine they live in groups, on the muddy banks of rivers like the Mississippi, and the Nile. They're highly venomous, and will eat anything they can catch. They can slither, or crawl, and are very good swimmers.
The muzzle-contraption on his mouth is actually part of his head, not a separate thing. They hear very well, making some sort of sound a la bats with their echo-location thing. Don't see very well.
The feather is part of the coming-of-age thing. That, and the carved fangs signify age/prowess/wisdom/standing in the group/as a hunter. This one would still be a juvenile.
