Sep. 11th, 2010 12:51 amI just wrote this tonight, and I thought I would share it. I hope you enjoy. Either way, it belongs to me.
I was standing on the edge of forever, staring down into eternity.
Fear ran through my veins, spreading all throughout me
And I couldn’t help the cry that escaped my throat.
I had never been so close to the edge before,
Never felt that primal urge to jump so viscerally as I did then.
Everything below was wreathed in shadow
And I couldn’t help but wonder if my meager light could really breach such darkness.
Then a warmth pressed against my hip, leaning into me
And the wolf stared out over the edge at my side, fearless.
“Your soul is bright, and stronger than you know.” Said the Wolf to me.
I looked down into molten gold and saw the sunrise,
And the shadows fled before such light.
So I stood there on the edge of everything
With a Wolf at my side, souls intermingled and never alone.
Then we leapt, together, and Faith carried us home.
