Yes. Lucy Liu is playing 'Joan Watson' in the new show. WHAT THE FUCK, CBS?

I DON'T GIVE A FUCK IF IT'S 'ORIGINAL' OR WHAT-THE-FUCK-EVER. Ohmygod it just pisses me off to no end, and I am so thoroughly disgusted right now. It just. It seems like a cop-out. Obviously they're going to push the romantic element between the two, and OBVIOUSLY WATSON HAS TO BE FEMALE FOR THAT. gawd dammit. I just. Reading that article put me into a completely foul mood.

Fucking CBS. Just.

ETA: FUCKING NUTBALLS MAN. ACD COULD WRITE STORIES ABOUT TWO MEN LIVING, AND WORKING, AND SHARING AN ENTIRE LIFE TOGETHER BACK WHEN BEING GAY WAS FUCKING ILLEGAL, YET AN AMERICAN TV NETWORK IN THIS DAY AND AGE HAS TO BE LIKE 'OH NO. WE COULD NEVER DO THAT!!!' No. The closest they can come to that is going 'LOOK. WE GIVE YOU A BROMANCE!' every now, and then before going however-long trying to shove all the heterosexual in our faces.
